Expertly installed in each of the shelves of the wooden drinks cabinet is a Motion Sensor 360 - Pinhole - Volt Free. These sensors are then used to trigger the linear lighting that is integrated in each shelf meaning as soon as the user reaches in to grab their chosen bottle of wine, the lights promptly and gently dim up the shelf in question. 

After a short timeout, the lighting on the shelf returns to the low level that is set on the other shelves. For the hyper targeted, unique application such as this the very short timeout makes perfect sense and adds to the dynamic, responsive feel of the automation. To ensure this localised automation feels accurate and precise, the team at Genesis HTA have carefully masked the sensor's detection area to avoid any unwanted detection outside of the specific shelf. This way anyone walking past the unit does not cause any unwanted lighting automation.

As with all properly designed control systems, the option to override the automation is as simple as a tap on a keypad, which in this instance, is one of our TAP-5 ORE keypads.
